Integrated off-grid power, communications and remote monitoring infrastructure for a technically demanding island location in the Baltic Sea.

Keri Island is a remote location in the Baltic Sea with no conventional utility infrastructure. Reliable power and communications therefore have to operate independently, with limited opportunities for on-site intervention.
The challenge
The objective was to create an integrated technical infrastructure capable of supporting continuous operation, remote monitoring and communications throughout changing weather and seasonal conditions.
The solution
LinkPoint designed and implemented an integrated off-grid infrastructure combining renewable generation, energy storage, backup power, communications and remote monitoring. The energy system includes 5.7 kW of solar generation from 12 × 475 W photovoltaic panels, a SolaX 5 kW hybrid inverter and 21.6 kWh of battery storage.
Integrated as one system
An automatic backup generator and 400-litre fuel system provide energy resilience during extended periods of low solar production. A dedicated communications mast, CCTV and remote monitoring provide visibility into the power system and fuel level from the mainland.
The result
The completed infrastructure provides Keri Island with a resilient technical platform designed for autonomous operation in a remote maritime environment. Solar generation and battery storage cover normal operation whenever conditions allow, while generator backup provides continuity and remote monitoring reduces unnecessary site visits.
